Pause Before You React Why this matters •Reacting in the moment often makes things worse •Emotions can cloud judgment •Quick reactions can hurt you and others What I’ve learned •Not every feeling needs an immediate response •Stepping back creates clarity •Time allows emotions to settle •Wisdom comes after reflection, not impulse How I handle heated moments •I pause instead of reacting •I give myself time to think it through •Sometimes that’s five minutes •Sometimes it’s thirty minutes •Sometimes it’s a full day •I wait until I can respond with a clear mind How you can apply it •Create space before responding •Ask yourself if reacting will help or harm •Choose timing that leads to understanding •Respond in a way that brings peace, not chaos
