“It is better to suffer for doing good…” → Sometimes doing the right thing comes with a cost. You might face criticism, rejection, or mistreatment because you choose to obey God. But suffering for doing what is right is different from suffering because of your own sinful choices. “If that is what God wants…” → God doesn’t promise that following Him will make your life easy. There may be times when He allows you to go through difficult situations while remaining faithful to Him. “Than to suffer for doing wrong!” → There are consequences to our actions. Peter is reminding us that it's better to face hardship because you stood for what is right than to experience the consequences of deliberately doing what is wrong. ⸻ Simple takeaway: Don't compromise your obedience to God just to avoid discomfort. It's better to face criticism for doing what's right than to experience the consequences of doing what's wrong. Stay faithful to God, even when obedience costs you something.
